Q: Will I still have water and electricity through the process?
A: Yes, it’s only turned off for approximately 20 minutes during the whole process.
Q: How much is my bathroom going to cost?
A: You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a magazine quality bathroom at Oxford. We have created packages to suit every budget and you still get the ‘Wow’ factor. Visit our showroom where we have our packages on display starting price from $9,950.00.
Q: How long does it take to renovate a bathroom?
A: At the risk of sounding elusive, we really must say that “it depends”. The scope of the bathroom renovation dictates how long the project will take. For example, if you are relocating your fixtures and reconfiguring the room, the actual construction will obviously take a little bit longer, approx. 3-4 weeks. A simple bathroom renovation can be completed in approx. 2-3 weeks.
Q: What do I need to do to prepare for my bathroom renovation?
A: You can start by getting a good idea of the type of look and style you want. If you don’t know yet, look at some magazines, websites, or watch some home remodeling shows to get some design ideas. Then, contact us for a Free Design Consultation with our bathroom renovation consultant. You will be instructed by your renovation consultant as to what exact steps you need to take. But, generally speaking, before construction begins, you’ll want to clear out the area being worked on of all your personal belongings that can be removed. Although, we do cover the areas surrounding our work area, you’ll want to protect your furniture from dust with drop sheets.
Q: Will Oxford Bathrooms help me choose all of the materials (vanity, toilet, basins, bath tubs, etc.) for my project to make the process less overwhelming?
A: Since we have all the materials you need at our showroom, yes, we will help you choose everything you need. This can all be found at our convenient Sydney showroom.
Q: Can I buy those products from Oxford Bathrooms?
A: Yes. That is a major component of what makes us a one stop shop. The fact that we are able to design everything for you, help you choose the materials, and sell them to you, makes it very convenient for our clients. But, it is also important to note that we don’t require you to purchase the materials from us, you may purchase your materials from other suppliers if you wish.
Q: Do I need to have design ideas before I start the renovation process?
A: Absolutely not; but it helps if you do. Your Free quote is meant to help generate ideas or work through the ones you already have.
Q: What type of return on investment can I expect from renovating my bathroom if I sell my home?
A: Bathrooms typically get the best return on a renovating investment when selling your home. The national average return on investment for bathroom renovating was between 93.2% and 102.2% (depending if the budget is upscale or moderate). In large metropolitan areas like Sydney, the return ranged from 116% to 136.3%. Many people actually make substantial money when investing in a bathroom renovating project.
Q: Is re-glazing a bathtub a good solution to replacing the tub?
A: Re-glazing is a great way to save money. It requires less labour and eliminates the cost of installing a new tub. Many older tubs are cast iron – a very sturdy and expensive material. In addition, some older tub models may be deeper than new tubs. While there are several good reasons to re-glaze, there is one big disadvantage – it doesn’t last. The glaze usually begins to wear off within a few years. Depending on usage, the tub may need to be re-glazed in three years. Nothing really replaces the visual appeal of a brand new tub. If you want to do it right and are not limited by budget, replacing the tub is the best way to go.
